Volunteer drivers are very much needed by Partners-In-Care, a local non-profit providing no-cost rides for older adults to doctors, grocery shopping, etc. Even one ride a month is a big help to us! Please phone (410) 544-4800 or (800) 227-5500.

Partners In Care Maryland is a time exchange community program supporting older adults aging in place. In FY ’13, their volunteer drivers provided more than 8,500 rides for older adults! If you would like to find out more information about Partners in Care, you can use the following:

American Chestnut Land Trust met with local community groups to establish a living conservation legacy. ACLT is responsible for a significant number of acres and seeks community help. A suggestion is the development of a “natural chapel” somewhere in the woods. Future meetings will develop further plans. What can congregations do to assist? Contact American Chestnut Land Trust and/or visit www. Acltweb.org.

TRUST formerly the Southern Maryland Action Coalition, seeks ways to address SYSTEMIC issues, rather than SYMPTOMATIC ones. Focus is on Education (which led to Closing the Gap Coalition), Housing (HOME Act) and Transportation. Current emphasis is on fostering relationships, such as the Diversity Workshop. https://www.facebook.com/TRUSTSoMD
